Before jumping in, I just wanted to quickly say RIP to Charlie Munger, who passed away at 99 on Tuesday. He was Warren Buffett’s best friend and business partner for 60 years and to say he was an avid learner is an understatement. I learned so much from Mr. Munger over the years and I’m grateful for him and his life.

Let’s get right into the news from this week! Cloudflare We had a lot of announcements from the company last week so here is a recap blog post . One thing I’d like to point out is that Cloudflare released a new pricing scheme for its development platform, Workers. In a comparison against AWS’s Lambda, the company estimates faster runtimes for cheaper. That’s typically good business – faster for cheaper.

Weekly Update Sep 25-29 Tesla First, Tesla finally received environmental permits for Giga Mexico. The company is very near to actually breaking ground at this new location. This was the last main roadblock. In the documents, Tesla has 26 months to complete the project so we are looking at a late 2025 completion date. It will take some time but it’s good to see that things are moving forward.

Tesla Tesla is reportedly working towards an enhanced gigacasting, not just for the back of the car, but for the entire underbody. This giant casting would replace nearly 400 parts, streamlining the production process. A few years ago, when Tesla perfected the gigacasting for the back of the car, it stunned car manufacturers and laid the foundation to lower costs. Now, Tesla has best-in-class margins but they continue to innovate and take risks. The risky part about a castin

We have quite a bit of news this week, so let’s jump right in! Cloudflare Cloudflare’s CFO attended a conference and there was really only one quote that I wanted to pull out: We've committed to achieving north of 20% operating margin and north of 25% free cash flow margin. So we want to get there probably earlier on free cash flow than an operating margin, but this is the trade-off we are going to play.

Weekly Update Sep 5-9 Axon There was an Axon article in Reuters that a few of you sent me, detailing its company culture but skewing negatively. In my opinion, it was fairly sensational.

Weekly Update Let’s get right into the news for this week! Tesla There was quite a bit of Tesla news so let’s take it one by one. First, in the latest avalanche of car companies adopting Tesla’s charging standard, Mercedes just announced its EVs will have access to Tesla’s superchargers by next year. Second, Tesla is looking to break ground any day now on its latest Gigafactory in Monterrey, Mexico. The company is actively trying to diversify its supply chain and it is miles

Weekly Update For you Americans, I hope you had a nice 4th of July! To everyone else, I hope it was a good Tuesday :) Let’s get right into this week’s news! Tesla Tesla released its delivery and production numbers for Q2 and they were above expectations. The company produced about 480k vehicles, 96% of which were either Model 3’s or Model Y’s, and delivered about 460k cars. The company is now over a 1.9 million production run-rate and will be at 2 million in no time. While t

Let’s get right into the news! Snowflake Snowflake held its Summit and Investor Day so there were quite a few announcements. Snowflake announced a deepening of its relationship with Microsoft. The company increased its Azure spend commitment, which I think is a fantastic sign to diversify a little from Amazon. Over 70% of Snowflake workloads go through AWS so it’s good to see Microsoft get some more love. Google, the third largest cloud provider, still does not play nice wit

Let’s get right into the news from this week! Tesla You’ve probably heard by now but, Ford and GM announced that its new models, starting in 2025, would use Tesla’s NACS (North American charging standard) and thereby have access to Tesla’s 12,000-strong supercharger network. It’s a testament to Tesla’s dominance in electric vehicles. Ford and GM see Tesla as having such a lead that it’s not even worthwhile to create another, duplicate charging network. Tesla’s is already big
